“Federal Trade Commission votes to ban noncompete agreements: There will be no lack of competition for the Lawsuits that follow”

Yesterday, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), by a 3-2 vote, adopted a rule that would ban almost all employment related non-compete agreements nationwide (including non-compete provisions in employment agreements).

Unsurprisingly, today, the first of what will likely be many lawsuits against this newly adopted FTC nationwide ban on non-compete agreements was filed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

We will continue to monitor developments on this important area of contract and employment law and will provide updates as they become available.
