Kenya Bates, Esq. is an Attorney with Stern & Eisenberg.  

Kenya has over five years legal experience representing creditors’ rights including mortgage servicers, originators in mortgage foreclosures and evictions in Pennsylvania & New Jersey. Kenya’s default experience is inclusive of residential and commercial foreclosures and title resolution. In addition to representing creditors, Kenya also has extensive experience in the area of tax law including estate planning and employee benefit law. Kenya is devoted to ensuring success and accuracy in high volume default work and compliance with all legislation and client requirements. Her philosophy and passion drive exceptional communications with borrowers, clients, and team members. “Helping a borrower work to resolve issues during tough times and providing our clients with win-win creative solutions is extremely rewarding”. Kenya is passionate about proactively evaluating existing protocols and identifying new processes to ensure each case is handled timely and thoroughly, therefore, maintaining a 90% plus rating on client scorecards in an extremely regulated industry.

Kenya devotes much of her time to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, assisting low-income taxpayers and small businesses with income tax preparation and training hundreds of volunteer tax preparers in Tax Law. Kenya’s devotion to serving her community continues with the Sunshine Arts, a small Community Art Center were Kenya served as Treasurer. In addition, Kenya is active in her community garden, recently writing a grant for and program managing a Pilot Study with a national organization, Share our Strength, whose mission is to end hunger and poverty in the United States and abroad. In that capacity, Kenya built partnerships with the housing authority, local schools, community associations, and local officials. Kenya’s grant and approval consists of a local community garden providing groceries, vegetables, fruits and kitchen essential kits, access to garden to grow food and a series of online cooking classes, and meal planning for small children and expectant moms. Kenya is always eager to contribute her time to encourage developmental growth for individuals, communities and her clients.
