About Matteo S. Weiner

Matteo brings extensive experience to Stern & Eisenberg, with a focus on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, while supporting the firm’s loan default servicing and commercial litigation practices. Before coming to Stern & Eisenberg, Matteo represented both debtors and creditors in the bankruptcy process through his work at general practice firms in Philadelphia and New Jersey and in a bankruptcy-focused role at a highly regarded regional creditors’ rights firm.

Matteo enjoys collaborating with the Stern & Eisenberg team to provide practical, strategic representation, develop efficient solutions, and advance client objectives. He is committed to delivering diligent, cost-effective representation and zealous advocacy when needed.

In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Matteo has successfully litigated and resolved disputes involving commercial and consumer contracts, commercial real estate agreements, property matters, and partner and shareholder disputes. His experience also includes landlord-tenant disputes, insurance matters, employment law, personal injury claims, condominium law, criminal law, title curative work, family law, and consumer fraud.  Matteo also has experience in special education law, having served as a hearing representative for the General Counsel of the New York City Department of Education.

Matteo earned his Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he was a Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society Fellow, participated in the Integrated Trial Advocacy Program, served on the Environmental Law National Moot Court Team, and was a Pupil of the Delaware Valley Environmental Law Inn of Court. During law school, he interned with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, and a New Jersey law firm specializing in family law and divorce. He also served as a judicial intern to The Honorable M. Faith Angell of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Before practicing law, Matteo worked for a real estate development and management company, where he served as a property manager, lease manager, leasing agent, and building and zoning permit expeditor. Outside of his legal practice and family commitments, Matteo is an avid sports and soccer fan who regularly plays in local league and pickup games and volunteers as a youth soccer coach.
